To all of our Cablevision (Optimum Online) internet users, be warned that there is a spam e-mail circulating that is a very convincing phishing attempt to get your credit card info.
Just received one today and it looked legitimate. Always hover your pointer over the URL (website address) that you are being asked to click through to. The actual link will be displayed so you can see what website you will actually go to if you click on it. If that URL doesn’t match the actual website of the company that supposedly sent you the e-mail then delete it immediately. You can always log in to your actual account with that website of company to see if they are legitimately trying to communicate with you.
